Web Design

Since 1999, I have collaborated with small businesses and non-profits to establish web sites in line with their marketing efforts. My corporate background in marketing project management and information technology (IT) project management set the stage for my transition into web design services.

Working closely with you during the design phase to understand your organization's offerings gives me insight and a feel for how to best present your organization on the web.

For information on my portfolio feel free to contact me by phone at 804.683.2499 or by e-mail at jacehill@jacehill.com. Based on the scope of your project I will provide a written quote for the web project cost.

GRAVA
...a site redesign

!

Cost structure for contracting a web design project:

My standard web site design cost is $3,000 for a six-page site. The cost includes these services:

  • up to 4 hours of consultation with you on what you are looking to convey in your site
  • registration of your domain name
  • collaborating to determine your navigation hierarchy--i.e. what grouping of pages would best represent your organization
  • home page graphic design--up to three mock-up iterations
  • optimization for the web of up to 20 graphics (not to exceed 2MB)
  • sub-nav graphic design
  • input of content into the pages
  • inclusion of META keywords
  • inclusion of META description
  • quality assurance testing of the website
  • use of a web based content management system for one year to make updates to your web pages
  • a training session instructing you how to use the content management system

Half of the site design fee is due at the signing of the contract; the balance due when the site is launched.

Time expectation to launch a site - can be as little as 10 working days and as much as four months...ultimately determined by how much material you already have pulled together and how well we synch up when you are providing feedback on the design comps.

Any design iterations (past the three included in the design package) will be billed at an hourly design rate of $100. (For your information - I have never had to go into an hourly scenario for design rates, but I know of other designers who have, so I disclose this rate upfront.)

Any pages, beyond the six included in the design package, will be billed at a per page rate of $100.

Changes to the website:

Content change/modification rates are $75 hourly if I make the changes. (The only time an hourly content change rate comes into play is after a site is launched and content changes are needed, additional images need to be added, etc. Content changes, prior to launch, are included in the initial site design fee.)

After the first year of service, you have the option of contracting use of the content management system for make changes yourself to the website. The annual cost to use the content management system is $120; billed upfront annually.
